Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ) unveils inaugural Champion Members
The Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ) is proud to announce its six inaugural Champion Members, a new tier of membership that recognises organisations for their leadership within PTAANZ programs in the broader public transport sector.
Arup, Cubic Transportation Systems, Keolis, Kinetic Group, Mott MacDonald and Transit Systems will form PTAANZ’s first Champion Membership Tier. Designed for leading agencies, delivery authorities, major councils and private sector innovators, Champions will benefit from enhanced involvement, visibility and leadership across PTAANZ operations.
Aligning strongly with PTAANZ’s Connected Choices strategy, Champions will wield strategic influence on PTAANZ Committees, foster connection across industry and drive policy reform across decarbonisation, mode shift and customer experience.
The new tier also enhances the work of PTAANZ Premier Members, transport agencies across Australia and New Zealand, by enabling stronger collaboration between industry and government to address shared priorities.
PTAANZ Chief Executive Lauren Streifer, thanked the six Champion Members for their exceptional commitment to shaping a sustainable and customer-focused public transport industry.
“Arup, Cubic, Keolis, Kinetic, Mott MacDonald and Transit Systems share PTAANZ’s commitment to tackling difficult transport challenges and sharing best practice across the industry,” she said.
“Their ongoing commitment to the work of PTAANZ has allowed us to maximise our industry impact and grow our team to further support our members.
“Each member brings valuable insights drawn from their distinct positions within the public transport ecosystem.
“As PTAANZ continues to thrive, our Champion Members will play a critical role in advancing our policy priorities and events program while supporting close collaboration between the private and public sectors.
“It’s an exciting time to be involved in the transport sector – though not one without challenges.
“Our role at PTAANZ is to inspire excellence across the sector and ensure our members have access to global networks to meet these challenges, something our Champion Members will play a pivotal role in.”
The introduction of a PTAANZ Champion Membership Tier comes just months out from the inaugural PTAANZ New Zealand Conference, set to be held in Auckland on September 5.
“We’re delighted to be hosting an Annual Conference in New Zealand for the first time this year, enhancing our offering to members on both sides of the Tasman and driving important industry discussions,” Ms Streifer said.
“This will be closely followed by our annual Australian Conference and Gala Dinner on October 22 in Brisbane.
“Australia and New Zealand are poised to reimagine the future — shaping cities, housing, and transport that not only meet today’s challenges but create vibrant, connected, and sustainable places where people and communities can truly flourish.
“As a sector, this is our moment to lead — to design places that inspire, include, and endure.”
“Our Champion Members will be front and centre at these important industry gatherings, supporting knowledge-sharing and impactful conversations.
“We look forward to harnessing the knowledge and leadership of our Champion Members as we work together to shape the future of public transport across Australia and New Zealand.”
